Description
Beavers are the largest rodents in North America. They are aquatic mammals with glossy reddish brown or blackish brown waterproof fur. They have short dark brown ears.

The beaver is North America's largest rodent, and the world's second largest, after the capybara of South America.

American Beavers are common in Weaselhead and around the Glenmore Reservoir all year round. However, due to the presence of ice during winter months, they are most easily viewed and most often reported during fair weather months.
