Blackbuck prefer to graze on short to mid-length grasses but also browse on common brush species. Forage selection is primarily determined by availability with sedges, fall witchgrass, mesquite, and live oak commonly eaten.
Blackbucks are stocky gazelles from India, Pakistan and Nepal. Males are a distinctive black and white and have long twisted horns, while females are fawn coloured with no horns.
Blackbucks are gregarious and social animals with herds generally ranging from 5 to 50 animals. The herds are harems, with a single adult male and a number of adult females and their young. They tend to be diurnal during the cool season.

About Blackbuck
This Species of Antelope is one of the few species in which the males and females look very different. The female and young are yellow-brown with white undersides, the males have dark brown or black backs and white undersides.
