The Brown-headed Nuthatch (Sitta pusilla) is a year-round resident of pine woodlands in the southeastern United States. The species ranges as far west as east Texas.

The Brown-headed Nuthatch has an association with pines. Pine woodlands are the key habitat requirement for this species. The diet includes insects, spiders, and pine seeds.
