Carpet pythons are medium-sized pythons. They are named for their beautiful markings, which resemble an oriental carpet pattern.
While native species such as carpet pythons (Morelia spilota), monitor lizards (Varanidae), and some raptors (Accipitridae) are potential predators of greater bilbies, the most common and destructive predators are introduced species.
Threats to Survival
: The main enemy is the carpet python. The snake detects the bird by physical and chemical stimuli, rather than by sight, coils around it and swallows it whole.

: IUCN: Least Concern; CITES: Not listed ...
Being diurnal, the numbat is much more vulnerable to predation than most other marsupials of a similar size: its natural predators include the Little Eagle, Brown Goshawk, Collared Sparrowhawk and Carpet Python but, apparently, no land-based mammals.
Where as I have never seen a boa constrictor, carpet python or ball python exhibit any of this behaviour. Not to say they don't do it, I just haven't witnessed it with my animals.
