Cheetahs are made for sprinting. Their slender, streamlined body allows fast runs and their flexible spine and long legs enable the cat to take big strides.
Cheetahs knock their prey to the ground and kill with a suffocating bite to the neck. They must eat quickly before they lose the kills to other bigger or more aggressive carnivores.
Cheetahs are endangered, primarily due to loss of habitat. Inability to compete with other carnivores, such as lions and hyenas, is another reason. In earlier years, the fur trade was a major problem.

We saw this mother cheetah try to pull down a young wildebeest from the herd for her three adorable cubs. She raced into the herd and a dust cloud flew up as she tackled the youngster.
Consider rewarding a zoo with a visit if it keeps and breeds snow leopards, or cheetah. Cheetah have been kept by man for possibly two thousand years. Arabs, Abyssinians, and Mogul emperors used cheetah to hunt antelope.
