Coal tits are similar to great tits, but less colourful. They are found mainly in conifer woods and mixed forest, but also breed in parks and gardens that have suitable conifers.

The smallest Titmouse in Central Europe is the Coal Tit below. It is even slightly smaller than the Blue Tit is.

I have come close to giving up on trying to photograph Varied Tits, Eastern Great Tits, Coal Tits and Long-tailed Tits.

The eggs and more commonly the young of blue tits, great tits, coal tits and nuthatches have all become victims.
