Cod is the common name for the genus Gadus of fish, belonging to the family Gadidae, and is also used in the common name of a variety of other fishes.

It has been over 15 years since the moratorium on fishing Atlantic cod in eastern Canada, but the fish stocks have not replenished.

Cod form schools during the day and stay near the ocean bottom, usually around a depth of 600m.
Likes to Eat:
Cod feed at dawn or dusk on zooplankton and small fish, including young cod.

Atlantic cod, Gadus morhua (Linnaeus, 1758), is one of the most popular food fish in the western world.

Atlantic cod come in a variety of colours, including grey, green, red and brown. They have a pale line along the side of their body, called a lateral line. Atlantic cod also have a single whisker-like barbel on their chin.

TEETH AND DIET
The porbeagle feed on fish (mostly mackerel, squid, cod, hake, flounder and other bottom-dwelling fish) with its long, sharp teeth.

The porbeagle is a potentially dangerous shark.
