Common Marmoset (Callithrix jacchus) is a New World monkey. It originally lived on the Northeastern coast of Brazil, in the states of Piaui, Paraiba, Ceará, Pernambuco, Alagoas and Bahia.

 


Common marmoset is considered the best species able to adapt to human changes in their environment.

Common marmosets are New World primates. Their original range was limited to north eastern Brazil, but habitat destruction in that area is widespread.
