Crimson rosellas feed on a wide variety of grass, shrub and tree seeds, fruits, nuts, flowers, shoots, nectar and insects. The numbers of this richly coloured bird are very low and the range most restricted.

Hi we have a male Crimson Rosella who is 5 months old. He whistles like no one could imagine, he even speaks a few phrases. Recently after we boarded him he has become a bit apprehensive of our hands but we are working on him.

There was also competition for nest hollows with feral honey bees and introduced Crimson Rosellas.[5] By 1986 the population had been reduced to a single female bird, named "Miamiti" after a matriarch of the Norfolk Island people.
