Dhole
The Dhole (Cuon alpinus, also called the red dog of Asia) is a wild dog that inhabits , , and, more rarely, of India, China, Tibet, Malaysia, and much of southern Asia.

Although dholes are not fast runners, they have good stamina, and will pursue prey for hours until they finally succumb to exhaustion.

Dholes have a gestation period of approximately 63 days. The young are born in an underground den with up to ten pups in a litter (although 4 is more usual). When giving birth and raising young, several females in the pack may share a single den.

Humans are the major predators of banteng. They use the animals for food, clothing, and commercial trade (Nowak 1999).

Alpha pair: Normally, only the alpha pair of the pack breeds, which is a kind of organization not uncommon to other pack-hunting canids including the Dhole and the African Hunting dog.

In the wild, Nilgiri tahr are preyed upon by leopard (Panthera pardus) and dhole (Cuon alpinus), while a large number are also taken by humans (Rice, 1988; Rice,. 1990). Prater (1971) alone adds the tiger (Panthera tigris) to this list.

Bengal tigers have also been known to take other predators such as leopards, wolves, jackals, foxes, crocodiles and dholes (a species of wild dog) as prey, although these predators are not typically a part of the Bengal tigers diet.

The skulls of Canis (wolves, coyote, jackals), Cuon (dhole), and Lycaon (African wild dog) exhibit a large frontal sinus that invades the post-orbital process of the frontal bone.
