The Fennec fox, Fennecus zerda, is a small fox that lives in sandy deserts. It is found in the Sahara (in northern Africa) and the northern part of Saudi Arabia.

Fennec foxes have huge, bat-like ears to radiate body heat and help them keep cool in the Sahara heat. They also have long, thick fur that insulates them during the cold desert nights.
