Filefish
Filefish (also known as foolfish, leatherjackets or shingles) are tropical to subtropical tetraodontiform marine fish of the diverse family Monacanthidae.
The first dorsal spine of the scrawled filefish exhibits small notches along its length, resembling a file in appearance. This dorsal spine, then, contributes to the species common name.

Almost every good-sized clump will have a school of tiny, Sargassum-colored filefish beneath it. In large patches the bizarre, frog-like Sargassum fish - exquisitely shaped and colored to resemble a piece of the weed- often turns up.

The diet appears to consist of squid and warm water fish like the planehead filefish (Monocanthus hispidis) and flying fish. This species often feeds where predators like blue-fin tuna push small species to the surface.
