Male fire-bellied toads have a soft voice. During the breeding season, males call incessantly during the day and evening trying to attract a mate.

When a fire-bellied toad senses danger it arches its body, flashing the brilliant warning spots on its belly. This reaction is called the unkenreflex and is derived from the German name for fire-bellied toads (unken).

Natural History
Bombina orientalis is one of 6 members of the genus Bombina. It is found at 1700-3000 m (5300-10000 feet) above sea level in southeastern Siberia, northeastern China and Korea.

Fire-Bellied Toads do not need much space. A 10 Gallon aquarium tank is a good size. Provide several different areas, including; a dry land spot, a moist land spot (moist soil, peat moss, etc), and still water.

I have had fire-bellied toads and African-clawed frogs, but the most memorable pet was my red-eared slider, Leo (yes, he was named for Leonardo of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).
