Goliath frogs have been around for about 250 million years! They are one of only a few amphibians still alive that lived on Earth before the dinosaurs. But if the goliath frog has been around for millions of years, why are they endangered now?

 


Goliath frogs live in dense rainforest, but only in areas where they can have access to fast flowing rivers.
Likes to Eat:
These frogs feed on fish, birds, crustaceans, insects, other frogs and mammals.

Some facts to note: One species, the Bornean Flat-headed Frog, does not have any lungs. The world's largest is the 2ft Goliath Frog from Cameroon. Virginia has 27 anuran species of which 13 can potentially be found locally.
