GORILLA (or PoNGO), the largest of the man-like apes, and a native of West Africa from the Congo to Cameroon, whence it extends eastwards across the continent to German East Africa.
Gorilla nests : Gorillas build nests on the ground. Everyday when the gorillas wake up, they travel to a new area so they don't deplete all the food where they were the day before.

Gorillas live in tropical or subtropical forests. Although their range covers a small percentage of Africa, gorillas cover a wide range of elevations.
Gorilla family groups consist of a dominant silverback and his harem of several females and their young. The group often also includes one or more sub-dominant silverbacks and immature ("blackback") males.

The chimpanzee is grouped with the apes, such as the gorilla. However, it looks a lot like a tailless monkey. Its hair is black or brown and covers the entire body except for the face. Chimpanzees have flat faces and large external ears.
