Statistics
Wingspan: 50mm.

Grayling are found in Lee Valley Reservoir and only a few small high mountain lakes in the White Mountains. This fish is not being cultured by the Department at this time, but it is occasionally brought in from out of state hatcheries.

Arctic Grayling
A member of the whitefish family, grayling are treasured for their exciting action. These pretty little fish have a sail-like dorsal fin and are found at the mouth of cold northern rivers. Average weights range from 0.4 to 0.

The Grayling Outwash Plain landscape occurs from 900 to 1,580 feet (274-482 m) [2] and comprises much of the core Kirtland's warbler breeding range in northern Lower Michigan.

The grayling is one of the most attractive species for the European fly-fishermen. Interest in it is in fact growing, as in most European waters its population is in steep decline due to cormorants plundering their numbers.

Nearly all nesting occurs in jack pine stands where the soil type is Grayling sand. This is an extremely well drained sandy soil with low humus and nutrient content.
