The jewelled gecko (Naultinnus gemmeus) is a bright green lizard with white or yellow stripes or splotches that run the length of its back.

Description The Green Anoles, true to their name, are bright green lizards. They have a wonderful color-changing ability and can go from bright green to dark green to brown. They reach about 6" to 7" (15 - 18 cm) when fully grown.

The following species are not indigenous to the UK and are a serious threat to our native species.

The third British species, the green lizard (Lacerta viridis), does not occur in England proper; it has, found a congenial home in the island of Guernsey, but is there much less developed as regards size and beauty than on the continent.

I was enjoying a delicious meal at Cafe Luna, which is open to the air on two sides, when my eye chanced upon this gangly green lizard barely noticeable in some nearby bamboo.
