The Gull-billed Tern (Gelochelidon nilotica) is a widespread coastal tern found along all along the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico coasts of the United States. The species is also found in parts of California and Mexico.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
The Laughing gull is about 16 inches in length. Its white body is covered by a slate-gray mantle and nearly black hood which extends further on the throat than on the back of the head.

The Gull-billed Tern has a large range, estimated globally at 5,500,000 square kilometers. Native to North America and nearby island nations and introduced to much of Europe, this bird prefers forest, wetland, and marine ecosystems.

Mew Gull eggs are a light brown/olive with brown markings, and are about 57 mm(2.2in) in length. They are laid in March and early April during the breeding season.

Great Black-backed Gull: This is the largest gull in the world. Its head is white, with the underparts being white and the upperparts being black. It bill is large and yellow, with the lower part having a red spot.

The Great Black-backed Gull is perhaps the biggest threat to the Atlantic Puffin. It is capable of attacking a puffin while flying, or may catch an unsuspecting solitary puffin by surprise by dive-bombing it from behind.
