The Arctic Hare (Lepus arcticus) is the largest hare in North America. During the summer it has grayish brown fur, but in winter months it takes on its white coat with black tipped ears.
The hare is declining in Europe due to changes in farming practices. Its natural predators include the Golden Eagle and carnivorous mammals like the Red Fox and Wolf.

The Snowshoe Hare (called Lepus americanus by scientists)is known for the way it changes its fur color in different seasons. In the summer, this hare is reddish-brown except for its white belly.

The arctic hare lives all over Canada.
The arctic hare has a white coat in the wintertime (the winter coat), and in the summertime they are gray in color. This is also dependant on where the arctic hare lives.
The rufous hare wallaby was first documented by Western observers in the early part of the 19th century. It was once common throughout most of the arid and semi-arid parts of Australia.

The black-tailed hare lives 5-6 years. Its mating season is year-round if the quantity and quality of its food are adequate. The female's gestation period is thirty days; her litter averages between three and four young.
Little is known about the social life of the spring hare. Females usually bear three babies per year. Their young are born at approximately 1/3 of an adult's body weight which runs between 6 to 9 lbs.
