Jawfish

Animals JavelinaJay

Jawfish typically reside in burrows that they construct in sandy substrate. They will stuff their mouth with sand and spit it out elsewhere, slowly creating a tunnel.

The Jawfishes are in the family Opistognathidae, and are generally smallish, slender fish. We can see why you are interested in breeding them, as they have a fascinating method for guarding the eggs.
