Jerusalem Cricket
Jerusalem crickets, also called potato bugs, are a group of large, flightless insects of the genus Stenopelmatus. They are native to the western United States and parts of Mexico.

Grasshoppers (Acrididae), Jerusalem crickets (Gryllacrididae), and beetles (Coleoptera) are the most common arthropod prey, although other arthropod taxa are taken as available [22,24,45,63].

" Among them were remains of Jerusalem crickets, scorpions, and other flightless arthropods, although their diet also includes flying insects. To some extent though, pallid bats are terrestrial foragers.

These are the cave, or camel, crickets, found throughout the world in dark, moist places, and the stone, sand, or Jerusalem crickets of W North America, found under stones in sandy soil.

On bird-rich islands, a Barn Owl might contain some 15-20% birds in its diet, while in grassland it will gorge itself on swarming termites, or on Orthoptera such as Copiphorinae katydids, Jerusalem crickets (Stenopelmatidae) or true crickets ...
