GIANT KANGAROO RAT FACTS
Description
The Giant Kangaroo Rat is listed as an endangered species. The largest of the kangaroo rats, it has brown fur with a white stripe across the hindquarters, and a white underside.

Kangaroo rats seem to reach sexual maturity at around six months of age. If conditions are good, female rats may have two to three litters a year, with each litter having between three and six young.

Kangaroo rats are nocturnal. They live in burrows which they excavate.
Social Organization:
Kangaroo rats are usually strongly territorial, with 1 adult per burrow.
