I arrived at the dock about 6::00 to find people chasing a Common Koel singing from a tree above the parking lot. It was really 7AM.

The Koel which is a parasite on the House Crow (Corvus splendens) and the Drongo Cuckoo Surniculus lugubris which parasitises the Black Drongo (Dicrurus macrocercus) are mimics of there hosts.
These bungalows had sprawling gardens full of trees, bushes, flower beds, and lush creepers, which were of course full of the calls and songs of birds, from the 'chirrup-chirrup' of the house sparrow to the long drawn out 'koo-oo koo-oo' of the koel, ...
