All the mannikins like plenty of tall grass in which to forage and to nest and hide in during the day.

Nutmeg Mannikin
Spice Finches, also called the Nutmeg Mannikins, are excellent for the beginner. Besides being gentle and hardy, they are inexpensive and adjust easily to cage or aviary life. They are easy to keep and will live for many years.

Along the road I saw Jaiburu, Chestnut-breasted Mannikin, and White-breasted Woodswallow. Bill Pierce was not willing to run his trip for one person. Some times you pay a price for traveling alone.

Some experts defend that this bird came about from cross-breeding with the Striated Mannikin (Lonchura striata), but the lack of proofs still leaves many in doubt.

Nutmeg Mannikins is the other name given to Spice Finches. Having Spice Finches as pets is a cool idea, because of their personality traits - they are playful and very exciting birds.

Although their history is not very clear, we do know that the Society Finch was developed through selective breeding of other finches, and its ancestry included the White-rump (or White-rumped) Mannikin. Lonchura finches.
