Kangaroo - name for a variety of hopping marsupials, or pouched mammals, of the family Macropodidae, found in Australia, Tasmania, and New Guinea.

Pademelons are small when compared to other species in Macropodidae; their average height is 0.762 m. Males have head and body lengths ranging from 470 to 536 mm. Their tails vary from 372 to 473 mm. A male's weight ranges from 3.7 to 6.8 kg.

Red-legged Pademelon, White-browed Scrubwren, Bush Turkey, Eastern Whipbird also visited my campsite.

A kangaroo is any of several large macropods (the marsupial family that also includes the wallabies, tree-kangaroos, wallaroos, pademelons and the Quokka: 65 species in all).

Four Plus More: There are only four true kangaroo species: the red, eastern gray, western gray and antilopine kangaroos. There are roughly 50 other closely related species, including wallabies, tree-kangaroos and pademelons.
