Pilot fish
The pilot fish (Naucrates ductor) is a carnivorous fish that is a horse mackerel and belongs to the Carangidae family of fishes. It is widely distributed and lives in warm or tropical open seas.

Pilot fish (Naucrates ductor) are small fish that live on and around sharks. They eat stray bits of food left by the shark. The shark does not benefit from the pairing; this is a commensal relationship.

Despite their decided isolation from others of the same species, they may be observed with pilot fishes, dolphin fishes, and remoras. In 1988 Jeremy Stafford-Deitsch reported seeing the species accompanied by a shortfin pilot whale.
