Reticulated pythons have a reputation of being aggressive. Because of their large size alone this animal should be given great respect. They are relatively non-social animals, as are most snakes, and prefer to be solitary.
The Green Anaconda is one of the world's longest snakes, reaching 5-7 m (18-23ft) long (known to be exceeded only by the reticulated python Python reticulatus).
(Though the reticulated python - Python reticulatus - acheives similar lengths.) Their eyes and nostrils are located on top of the anaconda's large, narrow head - enabling it to breathe while the rest of its body is submerged.
The other snake that competes with the anaconda is the Asiatic Reticulated Python (Python reticulatus). The python holds the world's record for length of a snake, with the longest ever measured at 33 feet.
The reticulated python is, on average, usually longer than the average anaconda, but because the green anaconda is much heavier than the other large constrictors, if you consider both length and weight, it is the largest snake in the world.
