Serval
Leptailurus serval
Description
Servals are long-legged, large-eared spotted cats. Their body length is up to one meter, their shoulder height is about 0.6 meter, and they weigh 9 to 18 kg. Males are typically larger than females.

Servals are primarily nocturnal, solitary and terrestrial, however, if pressed, they are good climbers and swim well with no fear of water.

The serval has the typical body build of a cat and is similar to the cheetah Acinonyx jubatus but smaller and, with a relatively small head and short tail (30-35 cm). The ears are large, dish-shaped and always upright.

Out of all the big cats, the serval has the longest legs; they are up to three feet long, and allow the serval to look over tall grass and pounce directly on its quarry.
