Reproduction
Breeding occurs between May and September and is closely associated with rising water temperatures.

The starry flounder, more brightly colored than its drab relatives, is a common Pacific species found from mid-California N to Alaska and W to Asia. Flounders feed on worms, crustaceans, and other small bottom invertebrates.
