The tench or doctor fish (Tinca tinca) is a fish of the Cyprinid family, and is one of the commonest and most widely spread freshwater fishes of Europe.
The tench is not a very common fish and its weight is relatively low, but it is much appreciated among anglers. In good conditions, such as on Cerknica Lake, it often reaches weights of two to three kilograms.
