Tyrannosaurus rex was one of the largest meat-eating dinosaurs that ever lived. Everything about this ferocious predator, from its thick, heavy skull to its 4-foot-long (1.2-meter-long) jaw, was designed for maximum bone-crushing action.

The genus Tyrannosaurus has only the one species, rex, although a very close relative, Tarbosaurus, occurs in Central Asia.

Tyrannosaurus was one of the last dinosaurs to thrive on Earth before the extinction.

Snakes first evolved from their lizard forebears about 100 million years ago during the late Cretaceous period, about the same time that Tyrannosaurus rex first appeared.

Probably the most terrible of all the numerous species of dinosaur was tyrannosaurus, a huge predatory carnivore which had a length of some 15.39m (50ft-6ins) and stood (in a bipedal crouch position) at a height of about 5.63m (18ft-6ins).


TYPE SPECIES
A type species is the species of an organism from which a new genus is named. For example, Tyrannosaurus rex is the type species for the genus Tyrannosaurus.

The blue whale is bigger than 25 elephants; bigger than a Brontosaurus and a Tyrannosaurus rex combined.
It consumes about 40 million individual euphausiids daily, amounting to about 8,000 lbs.

Bats have been around for a long time, at least 50 million years and probably much longer, possibly sharing time with Tyrannosaurus rex.
Most small bats are generally indistinguishable in flight.

It means there are no more animals of that species (kind).

For example, the principal Jurassic dinosaur - Stegosaurus - already had been extinct for some 80 million years before the appearance of the Cretaceous dinosaur known as Tyrannosaurus.
