The extinct giant water scorpions (subclass Eurypterida) belong to this class. Members of class Pycnogonida are commonly known as sea spiders. These exclusively marine carnivores are spiderlike in appearance and range in body length from 4/100 in.

Larvae are eaten by predatory insects- predaceous diving beetles, their larvae, water boatman, dragonfly nymphs, water scorpions and giant water bugs- other Ambystoma larvae, as well as turtles (Kenney and Burne 2000).

Aquatic insects, water scorpions, and sunburst diving beetles can be seen at the Invertebrate Exhibit. And flamingos, mandarin ducks, and wood ducks can be seen in outdoor exhibits at the Bird House.
