Weasel A small aggressive carnivorous animal belonging to the genus (mustela), which also includes the stoat from Europe. Weasels are found on both continents Europe, Asia, North America.

Weasels are small, furry mammals with short legs.

WOLVERINE
The Wolverine is a ferocious type of weasel that lives in cold areas.

Weasels bounce up and down in a running motion with their backs arched like a bridge and their tails held straight out. They also swim expertly and climb trees with particular ease.

This weasel is polygamous and breeds mainly in July, with implantation and development of the embryos delayed until about 27 days before the young are born. The three to eight young are born about the first week in April in southern Texas.

The Long-tailed Weasel (Mustela frenata) is a widespread resident across almost all of the United States as well as much of Canada and Mexico. Despite its range, it can be hard to spot and is not often seen.

Long-tailed weasels usually make their dens in the burrows of other animals such as chipmunks. However, they will use other suitable locations such as rock crevices, stumps and hollow logs for dens.

The Atlantic weasel shark is a tropical species that inhabits depths up to 100 m. They are found in the eastern Atlantic from Cape Verde and Mauritania to northern Namibia and possibly as far north as Morocco.

One Colombian weasel weighed 138 g (5 oz). Known specimens have been collected in areas close to water at elevations of 1750 and 2700 m (5740' and 8900'), an altitude where cloud forests predominate.

Members of the weasel family (mustelids) are most famous for the strong-smelling fluid they secrete called musk. Each individual had its own scent that is used for defense and territorial markings. Some live on land and others live in the water.

Behavior The long-tailed weasel is a solitary animal, except during mating season. It lives in the abandoned burrows other mammals, in rotting logs or under tree roots or rocks. Its nest is made of grass and leaves and lined with fur.

Sea otters are members of the weasel or Mustelidae family and are closely related to the mink and river otters. Since otters spend most of their time in the water, their hind feet are webbed and adapted for swimming.
