MEW GULL FACTS ...

Every Minnesotan sooner or later gets a whiff of the striped skunk's calling card. The skunk is only the size of a house cat, but few wild animals are willing to tangle with the skunk and its obnoxious odor.

When you get closer to the whale you will be able to hear as well as see the blow and if the wind is in the right direction expect a whiff of fish smelling whale breath.

Often the bears are just getting a better view and checking the air for whiffs of food or danger. However, the sloth bear often comes into conflict with humans and is feared in parts of its range.
