Sitta carolinensis
The White-breasted Nuthatch (Sitta carolinensis) is a resident across much of the United States, Canada and Mexico. It is a species which inhabits quite a variety of mixed forest types at all elevations.

White-breasted Nuthatches, recent additions to the avifauna of Alberta, are now fairly common year-round birds of the aspen parkland and southern mixed forest, mainly of central Alberta.

White-breasted Nuthatch
So this was an attempt to give you a list of some birds for bird identification by color. Hope it turns out to be helpful. You are most welcome to add to this list through the 'comments' section below.

Its call, ank-ank-ank, is similar to that of the slightly larger White-breasted Nuthatch, but higher pitched and more nasal. Its song, seldom heard except at nesting time, is a rapidly repeated series of pleasing half-musical notes.

Anatomy: The nuthatch has a relatively large head, a short tail, strong feet, and a powerful bill (beak). Nuthatches have blue-gray feathers on top and a light-colored belly. The white-breasted nuthatch is 5 - 6 inches long (13 - 15 cm).

Other potential future splits in Baja may include LeConte's Thrasher (Vizcaino Thrasher), White-breasted Nuthatch, and Acorn Woodpecker. Here you will find photos and information on each of the endemics.
