The White-eyed Vireo (Vireo griseus) is a common nesting species across much of the eastern half of the United States and parts of Mexico. It winters in the most southern areas of the U.S.

Status Rare vagrant. First reported by Harrison F. Lewis, who closely observed a male singing its characteristic song at Arnold, Shelburne County, on 26 May 1953.

White-eyed Vireo very similar, but is more olive and yellow, has white eyes in the adult, more distinct wingbars, and bright yellow spectacles.
Hutton's Vireo has broad wingbars, a shorter tail, and a dull gray throat and breast.

5 and 25 acres and can overlap with White-eyed Vireo (V. griseus) territories. The White-eyeds seem to prefer the brushier gullies and the Black-cappeds prefer the more open areas on slopes and hilltops.

The Pine Trail also produced White-eyed Vireo and Black-billed Cuckoos along with a decent collection of warblers.
