Description The yellow mud turtle is a small, olive-colored turtle. Its name comes from the yellow-colored areas on its throat, head, and sides of its neck.

Description: Less than 6½" carapace length. Carapace dull olive, yellowish green, or brown; plastron yellowish to buff. Chin and throat yellow.
