Acclimatization - Gradual introduction of new fish to an aquarium by equalizing the temperature and chemical parameters of their container water with that of the tank. Minimizes Stress.
Acidic - Water with a pH less than 7.

To aid their acclimatization to captivity, they should always be the first fish added to the tank (aside from a few dither fish mentioned in part 1). Not for the lazy keeper, or one who considers quarantine tanks a non-essential item! ...

Since the water in the 240 liter tank in Athens had not been changed for 5 days, acclimatization should be done slowly and of course, in almost complete darkness to avoid stress to the newcomers as well as to the old inhabitants of the tank.

As the characteristics of invertebrates' native waters are radically different from those of the tank in which they will be placed, great care must be taken with respect to their acclimatization.

Baensch states that after acclimatization pellet food is accepted. I have observed hungry young C. bankanensis eating Tetra Prima (sold in the US as Tetra colorbits) soon after import.

Is the seller willing to provide information about the species and insist on a strict handling and acclimatization protocol?

Other Info= This is one of my favourite fish, it has very nice colours. This fish was first breed by the German Aquarist Meder, succeeded in breeeding this fish without acclimatization in 1951 in Neustadt.
