Angelfish are in my opinion one of the grandest fish in the hobby. These semingly docile fish should not be trusted with small fish as they have a true cichlid appetite.

Angelfish prefer gentle movement in their environment. I use either Sponge filtration(smaller angels I am growing out), Power Filters(that have flow regulation), Under gravel filters also work well.

Blue Angelfish
The blue angelfish is very similar to the queen. Adult blue angels differ from similarly sized queens in having a light blue pectoral fin with a yellow margin.
Angel Fish are named after their calming and graceful motions. Their body, if viewed from the side, looks somewhat like a broad arrowhead. Their dorsal fins are long and narrow, and they have little pectoral fins.

Freshwater Angelfish belong to the Cichlidae family, and come in a variety of color forms, and fin lengths. These popular aquarium fish originally came from the river systems of South America.
Angelfish usually pair up and start showing spawning behaviour between the ages of 8 and 12 months, but for more delicate, slow-growing colour forms, it may take longer.
Angelfish are from the cichlid family and can be very aggressive at times. Experience will tell you that there is a time and a place for angelfish in the community tank. As with most large fish, angels develop a personality.

For this week's Aquascape Analysis, I've decided to analyze Takashi Amano's aquarium "Dance of the Angels" from his book Nature Aquarium World Book 3.
