Banded GouramiColisa fasciata HABITS These hardy, peaceful fish fit in well with other species of a similar size. They need plenty of plant cover in their aquarium to feel secure. They also prefer areas with little water movement.

Some other larger members of this family are also occasionally or regionally referred to as " giant gouramis", including the banded gourami, Polyacanthus fasciatus, and the three spot gourami, Trichogaster trichopterus.

The standard variety has brilliant breeding colours , which are a lovely surprise as the males can seem fairly drab normally. The females are an olive colour, the normal strain has markings much like a banded gourami ( Colisa fasciata).
