Etymology: Macro=big, large; Stoma=mouth.

Housing
Betta macrostoma can be housed in pairs, species tanks, and community tanks. Pairs can be housed in a 20 gallon tank, groups should be housed in a 40 gallon tank or larger.
The betta macrostoma has one of the most unique breeding rituals in the betta world. The male and female will embrace each other near the bottom of the tank. From their after many embraces eggs will begin to fall from the female.
