The biotope aquarium can be adapted by adding species from disparate areas that have similar water requirements.

The biggest difference between these two biotope aquariums is their inhabitants. Finding organisms that are more indicative of deep reef environments can be more of a challenge and tend to be more expensive.
As a result they will be quite colorful and lively. Very hardy fish, that does well in every tank. They can stand very hard water, and if a biotope aquarium isn't preferred, would make a nice addition to a african(Malawi/Tanganjika) cichlid tank.
