The black ghost knifefish, Apteronotus albifrons, is a tropical fish belonging to the ghost knifefish family (Apteronotidae). They originate in South America in the Amazon Basin in Peru and from Venezuela through Paraguay in the Paraná Rivers.

Black Ghost Knifefish must be fed a varied diet. This may include live foods, beefheart, shrimp pellets, snails, small fish and worms. Tubifex and Bloodworms are said to be a favorite. These fish are big eaters.

Black Ghost Knifefish ...
I have had 2 black ghost knifefish. They are my favorite fish. Even though they don't come out that much during the day they are still fun to watch. They are fairly easy to take care, just a hiding spot and a big enough tank will do.

So far he has killed one shark catfish, Black Ghost knifefish, and even my new barracuda. The knifefish and the barracuda were bigger than my Oscar. I've only had this Oscar for a month! He has tripled his body size in just 4-5 weeks.
