Blue Acaras can easily be described as beautiful. This fish usually has a light purple or blue base color with dark yet subtle stripes running vertically along it's body.

The Green Terror, often confused with Blue Acara, can make a beautiful addition to any aquarium. Not only does it have an intriguing name, but also it is a colorful and hardy breed. The name, Green Terror, can be deceitful.

I have a blue acara and a convict in a 50 liter aquarium, both of which were battered in a 200 liter aquarium by another convict and a jewel. They were so badly battered, that they had lost all fins and were lying on their sides.

They can be kept with Discus, the Blue Acara and other Aequidens species, the Pearl Cichlid and other eartheaters, Angelfish, and other easy going Central and South American cichlids.

Green Terrors are a very nice colourful fish from South America and are quite often confused with the blue acara. Unlike the blue acara the green terror is a more aggressive fish that need be handled with care as far as other tank mates are concerned.
