Botia lohachata is known as the Pakistani Loach and is often called the Yo Yo Loach. It is a scaleless fish which is silvery gold with black irregular striping and has four pairs of barbels protruding from the mouth area.
Botia lohachata originates from India and Pakistan. It is a very effective scavenger and a very active fish. I have four YoYo's in my cichlid tank.

PD: An elongated species with a flat belly profile. The caudal fin is forked and the caudal peduncle is wide. The body ranges from white to light brown in color. A number of dark brown markings overlay.
The animal inhabitants are 2 full-grown discus, 2 farlowella (twig) catfish, 1 yoyo loach (Botia lohachata, to keep the snails in check), 15 Rasbora heteromorpha and a healthy population of Malaysian burrowing snails.
Originally it was deemed to be Botia lohachata, the name assigned by B.L. Chaudhuri in 1912, and it is still widely seen under this name. "Botia" is derived from an Asian word for soldier or warrior.
