Baensch and Riehl report that the 18 year old botia macracantha of a lady in Germany regularly spawned. Another described spawning occurred in the UK, in 1995/6.

At one time I had 6 clown loaches, all over 5" long. I do believe they tried mating once. One of them turned a creamy color and began cleaning one corner of the tank.
Botia macracantha enjoys eating small amounts of food several times a day. Younger Clown Loaches will eat most prepared foods, while older ones may be more finicky.
