Channa gachua, Hamilton, 1822 Origin: Malaysia, Thailand, Burma, Vietnam, Sunda Islands, India and Pakistan. Here the fish can be found in virtually every type of water, from swamps to irrigation channels.
SYN: Channa gachua, Ophiocephalus kelaartii PD: An elongated species with a fan-like caudal fin. The rear half of the fish is laterally compressed.

it is Channa gachua. This snakehead grows between 15 and 20 cm in length. It is not too aggressive unless breeding, and can be kept with similar sized cichlids like jack dempseys and convicts. This fish will also eat pellets and feeders.
