Controllers
Complex controllers are available that constantly monitor temperature, water chemistry, and other parameters.

Controllers
The system is monitored and controlled via a purchased Neptune ACII.

Controller: A device which measures some parameter of an aquarium, and then switches on and off another device to affect the aquarium. Typical controllers include redox, and pH.

The question I have about my aquarium is:
If you have any pictures, they would be helpful as well.

Surge controllers or wavemakers, as they are sometimes known, control the flow of one or several powerheads to make them come on at intervals. This will cause a more natural flow of seawater, and the effect looks good too.

The aquacontroller died today. Too much saltwater poured on it. I've ordered a replacement.
The replacement aquacontroller showed up, a III. Got it working pretty easily. Looks like my pH probe may be bad. The ORP is reading better now.

- Dual stage controllers which can manage BOTH an aquarium chiller and heater. The advantage of these controllers is that they can minimize any large fluctuations in temperature.

Timers and Controllers
All aquarium lighting should be on a timer to regulate the light schedule. The life cycle of your fish and corals revolve around your lighting schedule.

Milwaukee PH Controller - $100.00
This is used to monitor and control the effluent coming from the reactor.

Controllers included pH and redox potential but no external devices were hooked up to them. The brand was the Octopus and I used several Pinpoint ones as well.
Kalkwasser was dosed by means of a peristaltic pump from Cole Parmer ...

This one is really cool, and if you have a Neptune Systems AquaController III and the AquaNotes software (you can buy them over at MarineDepot), you can monitor and control your aquarium remotely from your iPhone.

The heat controller (front right) is of course disabled. This tank is filtered by two external and six internal filters (1000 lt/hour each one) so water agitation is always enough.

A temperature controller is necessary to control the chiller. These cost between $50 and $200 and are available in both single and dual-stage models.

The tank has a MILWAUKEE SMS122 pH/CO2 Controller so plants are always lush and the cylinders last forever because of the controllers... but back to these lovely fish...

Suckermouth Cats are great algae controllers for any peaceful or semi-aggressive aquarium. They are great additions for many freshwater aquariums to help reduce the amount of maintenance your aquarium requires.

These systems are considerably more mechanically complex than Kalkwasser systems, often involving CO2 tanks, electrical valves, pH controllers, bubble counters, circulation pumps and related equipment.

Their tanks are outfitted with high dollar lights and the latest technology in controllers and monitoring electronics. But let's face it, most of us are on a tight budget.

It stands on a teak cabinet, in which is hidden, as part of the plant fertilising programme, a CO2 injection system which is turned on automatically by an electronic controller when the pH rises to 7.0, and turned off when it drops to 6.8.

This could result in the pH rising above the maximum desired level of 8.5 during the day. The carbon dioxide would then be released into the tank via a pH controller, such as a Neptune controller, ...

Supplies:
Freshwater fish will require, apart from the aquarium, an aquarium filter, aquarium lighting, aquarium controller and monitor, aquarium feeders, aquarium gravel and perhaps, an aquarium live rock.

Powerhead: A small submersible pump commonly used inside an aquarium to provide additional water movement. Several powerheads can be used in conjunction with a controller unit to simulate natural wave actions.

and a digital controller that uses the sensor to turn the compressor on and off.
Lastly you'll need an AC guy to connect up the whole thing for you.
Since the sensor is in the FW, if it reads 26C, it could actually be 27C in the SW.

pH controller and probe for monitoring the pH levels and a solenoid to turn off the CO2 valve should the pH drop below a certain threshold.
Connecting pvc or flexible tubes for attaching it to the tank or sump.

If the tanks had been chilled more than 5 degrees Fahrenheit, a preventive dose of malachite green or other mild parasite controller might be considered, ...

at this time, if irate, can be aggressive toward their fellow tankmates, even the female members of their species. They act much like dwarf cichlids do. They are rather territorial in their own way. They do not serve as long-term algae controllers in ...

If you use a small enough wattage cable as a supplement to your tank's main heater, the temperature controller can be ignored or replaced with a timer, requiring only a low voltage transformer! ...
