Origin:South-Amerika,Trinidad, Peru, Equador, Colombia, Venezuela, Surinam, Brasil.
Corydoras aeneus are omnivorous, and will accept everything from flake to frozen foods. To maintain them in good health a variety of foods should be offered, including live foods such as worms and daphnia.

Corydoras aeneus (Gill 1858)
The next step was to add some Corydoras aeneus in the tank - see photo below. I initially bought five of them while I am waiting for an additional 12 to create a nice school.
Corydoras aeneus is an egg-laying species. The spawing site chosen by the female may consist of the leaves of plants, the glass tank sides, or rocks, although it seems to prefer flat surfaces.

PD: The body is stocky and deep, with an arched back. Two rows of bony plates make up each side of the fish. The upper has 21-23 plates, while the lower 19-21.
For bottom feeders, get a school of six Corydoras catfish (Corydoras aeneus is a good choice since it's commonly available and inexpensive) and also add a bristle-nose catfish (Ancistrus spp.) to eat algae.
The Corydoras aeneus should be kept in a group of six or more with other community tank fish, such as small characins, livebearers and rasboras.
