The body of Corydoras hastatus is typically more elongated than other Corydoras species. Its body is a transluscent white to olive color, with a thin dark stripe on the sides from behind the gill cover to the root of the tail, and a whitish belly.

[Pictures] Corydoras hastatus
SYN: Microcorydoras hastatus
PD: The body of the Dwarf Corydoras is slightly more elongated than the "typical" Corydoras shape. The body is translucent and white to pale green in color.

I placed my group in a 20-gallon tank, which is also occupied by a trio of albino Bushynose Ancistrus and a small group of Corydoras hastatus.

Though not imported very often, this species is hardy and does well in captivity. This is one of the several species of tetra that mimics Corydoras hastatus in coloration. This is a very active species.

By the way, the Cory you find at Rio Negro is Corydoras hastatus, not C. pygmaeus.
